Good News and Bad News

We got some great news about a new family member. I was so excited. We got some bad news about a house sale that didn’t go through. I was so sad. We got some good news that our daughter is being promoted in her job. We got some bleak news around work and the economy.

All of this happened within the same hour. It was like a roller coaster ride. I felt ecstatic and devastated, hopeful and despairing.

This is what I’m talking about when I preach that life is 50/50….and that’s how it’s supposed to be.

When I stopped trying to be happy all of the time, and thinking something was wrong with me and my family because I was not happy all of the time, I was FREE. Free to feel all of the emotions that are part of the human experience. Feel all the feels. Nothing has gone wrong. It’s just part of the ride.

So….Sit back, keep your arms and legs inside and have FUN!
